ANSWERS TO ARGUMENTS FOR ABORTION
by Dr. Norman L. Geisler
Abortion is the number-one
killer in the United States. Five thousand die each year from cigarettes, and twenty-five
thousand from drunk drivers, but in just the first ten years of legalizing abortion, the
country lost fourteen million lives. All the wars in the entire history of our country
have killed a total of just under 1.5 million. Yet in a single year we kill that many
babies by abortion.

DEEP IN THE
DARK OF THE NIGHT
Deep in the dark of the night
While the rest of the world is asleep
While sweet children and peaceful adults with their lives in order (or they think they do)
Slumber gracefully and without fear.
I lay awake and wonder about my life
Like a spectator in a very STRANGE movie.
Reviewing my bad choices, my wrong decisions
And the tragedies I cause by them.
I ponder how much change I could have controlled
How far less damage I would have caused
If I had chosen to walk my life's road differently.
Why feelings leap to the surface of my being
But never escaped because that had been purposely hidden
Within my camouflaging and self-comforting facade.
There were years of supposed confidence and ambition
But were just empty dreams and elaborate fantasies.
Now that my life is simpler, more real I can sleep
All in the process of simplifying my life.
Fears long buried that now have surfaced
And deeds I want to do that are undone.
Family and friends that I want to rediscover that I have scattered
And repaying those who I had taken for granted
Those who are the bedrocks beneath my slumbering head.
There is healing only in claiming that what is mine is mine.
Failures, disappointments, valleys, mountains
Defeats and well as victories.
And the real courage to endure and continue on
And not look back in guilt-ridden shame anymore.
