Adoption Information

The families who choose to adopt today come to an agency for many different reasons.

Some couples have struggled for years with the pain of infertility. Other couples feel blessed that they have raised or are raising children born to them or who are family members through adoption. These couples come to agencies with the desire to provide a permanent home for another child. Then there are families that adopt a child who is known to them - a child of a young relative or a child of a pregnant acquaintance who wishes to make an adoption plan for her baby. Regardless of their individual circumstances, these couples are committed to family and children. These are today's adoptive parents.

Remember that adoption goes a step beyond choosing life for your baby. It is a quality of life decision for you and your baby!

All families must complete a thorough family assessment process which includes:

  • Checks for criminal backgrounds and for any history of child abuse or neglect.
  • A review of the families financial stability.
  • An assessment of lifestyles, values, and parenting abilities.

Adoption plans include:

  • Open Adoption
  • Semi-Open Adoption
  • Confidential Adoption
